my story
Before I became a mother, I became a registered nurse.
I worked on a Medical/Surgical Oncology unit before transitioning into Postpartum nursing. Women’s health has always been where my passion lies, but life found a way to deepen that passion even more. As my husband and I grew our family, I experienced preterm labor complications, a preterm birth at 32 weeks, recurrent miscarriages and different postpartum mental health struggles after the births of both of our children. I now know what it is like to be a patient in a the area of medicine that I love. I have gone from nurse to patient to now, an advocate. As I continue my career caring for postpartum patients, I am now speaking out and pushing for changes to better support women, postpartum parents and NICU families.
